Barrier Park, East London

Client: Barratt
Location: East London
Requirements: Balconies, Railings, Screens, Pedestrian Gates
Contract Value: £2.4m

Scope of Works

Balguard were commissioned to manufacture and install a large scale architectural metalwork package for a new residential development in East London adjacent to the Thames Barrier.

The works included Balconies, Railings, Screens, Pedestrian Gates, Car Park Gates and sundry metalwork items.

Key Challenges

Working closely with the architects and client the key challenge faced was the Balconies. The design specification required completely concealed fixings for the powder coated soffits.

Working with our design teams and the architects for the project we developed a system allowing the soffits to remain positively fixed, eliminating any concerns over their failing in the future.
